(April 2021) Request for number of times NC Highway Patrol fired guns at people in 2020

Hello NCDPS (Records Officer),

I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law, in regards to NC Highway Patrol firearm discharges in the year 2020. To be clear, I am only asking for the following information about guns which were actually fired at people:

A) Please provide the Number (total only) of times that North Carolina Highway Patrol fired their guns at people in the year 2020.

B) Please provide the Names of all officers who discharged their guns at people in 2020. Please include the name of the NC Highway Patrol District that they are a member of.

C) Please provide the Number (total only) of firearm discharges by North Carolina Highway Patrol that resulted in deaths or hospitalizations in the year 2020.

** Note: For all items requested above, please do not include additional details such as name, address, case number, or any other personally identifiable information about possible victims.
