This is my third and final attempt to follow up on my email from June 12 @ 6:49pm.
I have not received any response to that message, nor my follow up about this on June 19.
To reiterate:
– Evelen is saying that the records I’ve requested do exist, but not in the manner I’ve requested them (broken down by first / last name, position / title, expenses paid in 2024 with totals / dates etc).
– As I said before. In this case, can you please provide the responsive records in their current format, whatever that may be ? … copies of invoices / receipts, etc.
– Can you please clarify in what format these records exist? I’d like to understand what is “burdensome” about producing these records. And, please specifically cite where the reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law.

Under NC Public Records Law, you are required to “promptly” process all public records requests. Essentially, this means that if you intentionally delay the fulfillment of a request by allowing it to “sit” until staff has availability to address it, or feels like answering my emails, this could be considered a denial of a request. With this in mind, I want to highlight the court case referenced in item #6 of the following article, posted on the NC Press Association website. In this instance: “The trial court held that an unjustified one-month delay in production of records was tantamount to a denial”. http://www.ncpress.
