Asheville # of Traffic tickets for failure to yield to a pedestrian

Good Afternoon,

I would like to know what is the the number of tickets the Asheville Police Department has given out for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Ideally, I'd like to know the number of tickets per year, for the last 5 years, up to the date the request query is performed. Thank you for your assistance!

    Dear Sunshine Request:
The record responsive to your request is:

The table includes the total for each year and the YTD (January 1 to April 1) for each year, in order to run an “apples to apples” comparison. Please note that the spike in 2015 and 2016 is a result of the City’s participation in the “Watch for Me NC” program, which specifically targeted this charge and several others.

Please let me know if you have other questions.
    All best,
    Terry
