Editor’s Note 08/21/20: The requestor indicated in the “Entity” field that the request should be sent to “City of Asheville”. We know from our experience with previous similar requests, however, that candidate campaign finance records are something that should be sent to the “Buncombe County Board of Elections” to process – That is the entity to which the request will be addressed.
The requestor also indicated in the “Start Date / End Date” field that the responsive records requested should include the time period “01/01/2018 – 08/19/20.” Based on the request Message as written above, however, the requested time period will be: 01/01/2018 – Present [day on which the query is performed]”.
Additionally, please note – It is likely that the responsive records can be obtained via the following publicly available link (found here). Similarly, the separate request we also received for Candidate Roney’s financial reports, can likely be fulfilled via a completed December 2019 request for similar info (found here).
We will post all updates on our site, as we receive responses from Buncombe County Board of Elections. The request we send in will read as follows:
“Hello Buncombe County, NC Board of Elections (Supervisor of Elections),
Please provide all campaign finance reports/public records [unspecified] for Asheville City Council Candidate Nicole Townsend’s 2020 City Council campaign.
The responsive reports/records should include the time period 01/01/2018 – Present [day on which the query is performed].
