(August 2024) Multi-part request for City of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC Government: Items related to two parcels, and an emergency Planning Board meeting on 07/19/24.
Good evening Gordon, Susan, Nancy, Suzanne, David, (or Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),
Please reply promptly to the following multi-part public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
I attempted to submit my request through your online records form. However, my request does not fit the very short character limit of the “Message” section of your form, and so I cannot submit it to you in your preferred format. Therefore, I’m submitting it to you all directly, as I believe you are the primary custodian(s) of these records, and should now proceed to fulfill the request.
All of the items requested below are related to Parcels # 15600118 and 1560011802. All of the responsive records for each item below should include the specific time period of 05/01/2024 through 07/27/2024. Please provide the following:
1. Permits:
Any and all permits and or permit requests – to include, but not limited to: Driveway / Culvert permits, Tree removal (please include tree worksheet).
2. Zoning Requests:
Please provide any and all zoning or change of use requests.
3. Petitioner’s Name and written text amendment provided by the petitioner for the emergency planning board meeting on 07/19/24 regarding text amendment – Article 7; Section 7.29, Tree Preservation.
4. Emails:
Please provide all email communications Sent To and Sent From any member / staff / employee of the City of B.S.L. Government pertaining to either of the above parcels (# 15600118 and 1560011802).
** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to “inspect”, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **
————————————
Please note that by submitting this request, I’m NOT agreeing to pay any potential fees or associated costs related to my request. If it isn’t possible to process the request without incurring fees, then please let me know the itemized potential cost and clear explanations of those charges upfront, and DO NOT proceed until I respond.
By Law I’m not required to provide a name or address to associate with a public records request, but in order to move things along I’d like to clarify that this request is being made by:
Sunshine Request
PO Box 17391
Asheville, NC 28816
The request has been sent solely by me and my email address [email protected] . If anyone other than that email address contacts you to pursue a similar request, it did not come from me. Please do not commingle or treat that as an alteration or cancellation of my request – I intend to continue to pursue my request.
Thank you for your assistance!

I have reviewed your request. The electronic information I submitted to you is all that there is. No permits have been issued from the City of Boiling Spring Lakes. The Driveway and culverts would go through NCDOT as Highway 87 is a state owned rd.

Thank you for sharing the attachment above.
I’d like to ask that you please review my initial request again. It doesn’t appear that what I’ve asked for has been fully satisfied or addressed.
All of the items I requested (1 – 4) are related to two Parcels: # 15600118 and 1560011802. And, all of the responsive records for each of the 4 items I’ve requested should include the specific time period of 05/01/24 through 07/27/24.
Thank you for your help!
