(August 2024) Request for City of Wilmington, NC Government: List of all current employees and salaries. As of present day.

Good evening Penny, Parker, HR, Jennifer, (or Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),

I reviewed your public records request form found at https://www.wilmingtonnc.gov/files/assets/city/v/1/government/documents/public-records-request-form.pdf

The contents of my request literally do not fit into the form, and so I cannot submit it to you in your preferred format. Therefore, I am submitting my request to you all directly via email, as you are the primary custodian(s) of these records.

Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html

** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to "inspect", nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

Please provide the names and salaries of all current City of Wilmington, NC employees as of the present day [on the date the query is performed]. Please include the following:

1) Employee first / last name
2) Date of hire
3) Position / title / department
4) Salary [including hourly wage, hourly rate, or salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]

Ideally, I’d like to receive the responsive records in an Excel or other machine-readable format. If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

I would also like to suggest for your consideration, that the County makes up-to-date salary data like this available on their website (or a data dashboard) in the future. It is in the public’s interest for you to do so, and it would also save County staff’s time to fulfill repeated records requests for this same data.

    Please disregard the following from my last email:
