    Good Afternoon,

My apologies for our delay getting back to you. Thank you for your responses!

Regarding “which ‘town’ of Concord” is referenced – Our website is based out of North Carolina. Although our site is sometimes receives requests for information related to states other than NC, the majority of requests typically relate to NC.

For the purposes of this request, we’ll interpret on the sender’s behalf that they’re referring to Concord, NC. We will note on our site that if the sender wishes to clarify that information, they should please do so and we will relay to you.

I also understand that you don’t have enough details at this time to facilitate successful completion of the request. Therefore, we will also post on our site a note to the sender to please provide additional clarification if they wish to do so.

I would like to ask, however, whether the City of Concord, NC does have any type of open data portal. For example, in Asheville, NC our open data portal looks like this – https://data-avl.opendata.arcgis.com/.

    Thank you for your help.
    Have a great evening!

    Good morning,

Which ‘town’ of Concord are you referring to? Concord of which state? This is the first time I am learning of a request for information; I am unaware of the June request outlined below.

The information requested is somewhat broad or vague. See comments below:

I’m certainly willing to provide whatever public information is being requested within a reasonable period of time but I need to better understand what’s actually being requested and I need to ensure you have the correct city or town.

Use-of-force incidents by the police department, (Just the number of incidents for 2017?)
Emergency (911) call data, (This information is not a police department record)
Crime report data, (What does this mean? The number of Part 1 Crime offenses that occurred by category?)
Arrest and citation data, (Just the number of arrests the department made or number of citations issued?)
Citizen complaints, (Just the number of complaints received? Not sure I understand what’s being asked for.)
Traffic stop reports, (I don’t understand what this means. Are you interested in the number of traffic stops made? What reports are you referring to?)
Demographic information on CPD officers. (Again, not sure I understand what information you’re looking for. Do you want a simple count of police officers by race/gender? Age?)

Hello Town of Concord and Concord Police Department,

I work for a website called Sunshine Request www.sunshinerequest.com. We built a site that makes it easier to make public records requests by filling out a simple form, and the results of any requests are posted on our site. This allows citizens to learn more about our local government, while saving staff from having to fulfill duplicate requests. If you have any questions about the project, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to answer.

We recently received a request for information that may be available in your office. If there’s another party that we should be contacting about this request then please let us know.

Here are the details sent by the requester:
