  Good morning,

   

  Upon receipt of this records request, Transylvania County took the following action:

   

  1. Information Technology Department performed key word search of emails for County Manager Jaime Laughter, Assistant County Manager David McNeill, and Communications Director Kevin Shook. The key words used were “substation” and “Sylvan Valley II”. The search parameters were within the dates 9/1/2014-11/30/2015 as requested.

   

  2. Staff reviewed each email to ensure they met the parameters as requested and to verify if any records fell under legal restriction for release.

   

  3. Staff also performed a text message search and found no texts among individuals named in the public records request that met the criteria. (In general, Transylvania County staffs do not communicate via text other than cursory information such as communicating being late to a meeting.)

   

  Attached in a single pdf document is the email correspondence that falls within the parameters of the public records request.

   

  Please note there was one email and one attachment to an email that were part of a closed session regarding property acquisition that have not been released because the purpose of the closed session has not been resolved. Those items are not included in the attachment.

   

  With the attachment, Transylvania County has satisfied the public records request.

Chief Craig Budzinski, and the Fire Chiefs or designees of Connestee, Rosman, Little River, and North Transylvania Fire Departments.

  Although your FOIA request seems to ask for information which the City might have, it is not addressed to the City of Brevard. It is only addressed to Transylvania County. Therefore, unless you send a request addressed to the City of Brevard, under advice of counsel, we will not make further response.
