Hello Buncombe County, NC Government,
I would like to make a public records request for the following information. This may possibly be an informational type question, and not necessarily a “public records request” (if so, please let me know, and kindly link to a copy of the requested information):
Please provide the proper procedure and application process for a non-county employee to apply for a permit and pass card to allow for free parking within a restricted county owned parking lot.

Editor’s Note 03/25/20: Buncombe County, NC Government is experiencing delays in their processing of records requests due to the outbreak of COVID-19. We received this information in an email from Buncombe County PIO, Kassi Day on 3/20/20 – the contents of that email are pasted below:
“Hello Sunshine, at this time the Emergency Operation Center has been activated for Buncombe County and we are currently responding to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. If your request is related to something other than COVID-19, our response is likely to be delayed.”
Keeping this update in mind, Sunshine Request will be putting all Buncombe County Gov related request follow ups on hold for a couple weeks. We will plan to check back in with Kassi again later in April. Additionally, if we receive any new requests for Buncombe County Gov, we will continue to send them in as usual, but will note that it could be some time before we receive a reply.

We’ve noted your response on our site, and for the time being, we’ll note the same on any requests to Buncombe County Government that we’d planned on following up on in the near future. That will put those follow ups on hold for a couple weeks, and we’ll follow up later in April.
