(February 2024) Request for Jackson County, NC Government: New County Manager’s employment contract and salary amount, as of present day.

Good afternoon Jackson County Records Officer (or Custodian(s) of these records), all others CCed,

Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html

** I am simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to "inspect", nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record should already exist and is available to you). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

I believe that at a special meeting called on 02/02/24 the Board of Commissioners voted to hire Kevin King as the new County Manager, and that the Commissioners also referenced an employment contract during the meeting.

Please provide the electronic copy of Jackson County's new County Manager employment contract, as voted upon by the Commissioners on 02/02/24. If the contract does not state the County Manager's annual salary amount, then please state the amount along with a copy of the contract.
