Good afternoon Rockingham County Government,
I’d like to make a public records request for information that may be available in your office.
If you’re not the appropriate party to contact about the request, please provide the correct name and email address of whom I should send it to.
Please confirm receipt to let me know the request will begin processing, and if possible, please provide a rough estimate of when the request may be completed. I will plan on following up again around the end of the month if I have not heard back before then.
Here are the details of the request:
Subject: (January 2021) Request for Rockingham County, NC Government: County Employees COVID Bonuses info and emails 12/01/2020 – 12/31/2021
Message: “Hello Rockingham County, NC Government (Records Officer),
[Attention of: Stephanie Kingston, HR Director. John Morris, County Attorney. Paul Maurray, County Manager. Kevin Berger, Chairman].
I’d like to make a multi-part public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law.
This relates to Rockingham County Government County Employees COVID Bonuses:
A. Please provide a list of ALL County Employees / Staff and their “COVID Bonus” and “one time COVID Bonus” (dollar amounts) dispersed by the County during the specific time period of 12/01/2020 – 12/31/2021.
– Name / Department of recipient
– Amount of the recipient’s bonus / award.
B. Please provide any Metrics used to determine which Employees / Staff from each department qualified for the bonus… if metrics were used.
Please indicate whether an equity analysis was applied or an inclusive lens was used by Rockingham County leadership and/or department directors to determine who qualified for bonus pay and who would be excluded.
Please indicate whether there was a grievance mechanism in place for Employees / Staff to dispute the amount of bonus.
C. Please provide copies of all emails 12/01/2020 – 12/31/2021 sent to and sent from any members of Rockingham County Staff regarding the “Covid bonus payout”.
Please provide the emails in a .PDF format so that they can easily be opened / viewed.
As relates to emails – please provide any .pdfs, other files, attachments, videos, hyperlinks, etc. that are indicated or referenced within the responsive records. For example: A .pdf that is an attachment within an email, should also be provided as a file along with the responsive emails. Or, a link should be provided so that the file can be opened.
If the records are ultimately too large to send via emailed file share, I’d ask that you please create a public Google Drive folder / link or some other file format to transfer the files electronically.
