Hello Transylvania County Government / Transylvania County Health Dept,
I would like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public records law:
1. Please provide the number of doses of Covid 19 Vaccine received by Transylvania County, from December 1, 2020 - January 17, 2021.
2. Please provide the number of doses given to Transylvania County employees not in a health care position, from December 1, 2020 - January 17, 2021.
3. Please provide a copy / link, or explain the protocol in place related to county employees receiving vaccine, from December 1, 2020 - January 17, 2021.

Through Monday, February 15, Transylvania Public Health has given a total of 2,658 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 2,052 first doses and 606 second doses. All Transylvania County vaccine providers have been allocated 3,800 first doses and have given 3,725 first doses. About 10.8% of all county residents have received a vaccine, including 27% of those ages 65-74 and 28% of those ages 75 or older. A total of 1,104 county residents have received both two doses of vaccine, which is 3.2% of the total population, 3% of those ages 65-74, and 9% of those ages 75 or older. (This does not include vaccines given to long-term care staff and residents through the federal pharmacy program.)
2. Please provide the number of doses given to Transylvania County employees not in a health care position, from December 1, 2020 – January 17, 2021.
Transylvania County Public Health is strictly adhering to the State of North Carolina’s directive to vaccinate only those in groups 1 and 2 (Health Care Workers and Long-Term Care Staff and Residents; Older Adults). Doing otherwise, could jeopardize Transylvania County’s weekly allotment of vaccine from the State.
Providing any identifying information about an employee or citizen receiving the vaccine could be a violation of HIPPA.
3. Please provide a copy / link, or explain the protocol in place related to county employees receiving vaccine, from December 1, 2020 – January 17, 2021.

I will plan on following up again around the end of this month if I have not heard back before then.
