(June 2021) Request for Transylvania County, NC Gov: New positions / employees added to payroll 01/01/15 – 01/01/2021

Hi Transylvania County, NC Government (Records Officer),

I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law:

Please provide information for all new positions that have been added to Transylvania County Gov payroll during the time period of 01/01/15 through 01/01/2021.

To be clear, I'm not requesting "all salaries" for "all employees." I'm just interested in knowing what "new positions" were created / added to the payroll during the requested time period. Please include the following information for each position:

A. Position title.
B. Position yearly pay.
C. Qualifications for position.

As we are an anonymous public records site, we do not have any additional information about the request to provide at this time, other than what we received initially.     Hello friends at Sunshine Request!

     

    I was discussing this request with our staff here and have a follow up.

     

    We don’t have any documents/records that combine both the title/salary/qualifications for a position AND when a position was added to our classification system, so we don’t have a specific document that can be referenced and provided to the individual who has made this request.

     

    This is a request for information and not a request for public records. That said, we are happy to try to provide any responsive records that may inform the requestor.

     

    Could you clarify the following: for your request, does “new position” mean:

     

    A. An additional “position” to the County’s list of job classifications (ex: we created the position of “DSS Attorney” in FY 2018, which did not previously exist as a job position/classification in Transylvania County government and so is a “new” position)
    B. Additional “new” positions within the existing County classification system (ex: we added 1 Environmental Health Program Specialist in FY 2019, but that general classification/position existed in Transylvania County government)

     

    In short, clarification on if it is “new” positions (A), or new “positions”
    (B) or “new positions” (both) would be appreciated and we could possibly give a time frame for response after that.
