(March 2023) Multi-part request for Town of Navassa, NC Government: Current pay / benefits for Council Members and Mayor. And any Town-owned vehicle mileage logged 01/01/23 – 03/27/23.

Hello again Michelyn (or Town of Navassa, NC Records Officer),

I'd like to make a multi-part public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law.

** Please Note: I am simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I am NOT asking to come in person to inspect, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via an electronic medium / format (in which the copy of this record should already exist).

I do not have any additional or further clarifying info to provide to narrow this request, other than what you see in the message below. If it is unclear, or you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law.**

A. Please provide the current “pay” or “salary” for each Town of Navassa Council Member, and the Mayor.

Specifically – I’d like to know the amount each person is paid, each month, as well as any other benefits issued [if there are any, please specify].The responsive records requested should be accurate “as of the present day" (date the query is performed).

B. Please provide the amount of mileage put on any Town-owned vehicles by any and all Council Members, and the Mayor, during the time period of 01/01/2023 through 03/27/2023. Please include the mileage, date, and purpose of each trip.

If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

    The request asked for:

    I understand your response to Part B. to mean “No mileage is kept, therefore there are no responsive records”.

     

    I just want to clarify your response to Part A. I understand you’re saying that Council Members and the Mayor are only paid a monthly stipend of $600. Can you please specify whether there are any other benefits they receive?

    Town of Navassa Board members along with the Mayor is paid a monthly stipend of $600

     

    There is no vehicle mileage log kept.
