Good afternoon Sheriff Chism, Emily, Meagan and Mack, or Custodian(s) of these records,
I have been advised that public requests related to the Navassa Volunteer Fire Department’s call data or statistics should be submitted to “Brunswick County Dispatch”. However, I cannot find any direct email contact info online for Brunswick County Dispatch or the Communications Center. It is unclear to me what the appropriate email address is I should use to submit my specific request, so I apologize for having to CC all of you for a response.

** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to "inspect", nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

Please provide the time, date, and brief description of the reason (for example: assist other agency, fire, assist EMS, wreck, etc.) for all calls to the Navassa Volunteer Fire Department. During the specific time period of 01/01/2023 through the present day [on the date that the query is performed].
To be clear, I’m only requesting to know the time / date / general description of a call. Please DO NOT include any personally identifying information about callers, if that type of data exists (for example: their name, phone #, an address, or case #, etc). That data is not relevant to my request, and Sunshine Request will not publish this type of info.

Additionally, the actual requested document is available and I would have assumed it would have been marked as “complete” when the document was added to the website. The last message I sent was at 5:19pm yesterday. Please note that we are a very small team, running the Sunshine Request website in addition to our primary business. We are also actively processing several dozen other requests and emails related to requests, at any given time.
We add all “updates” to our website as soon as we’re able to. Rest assured that this request will be marked as “Completed” on our site, and all updates sent since yesterday (including this one) will be added to the website, as soon as possible. It will likely be today or tomorrow.
