(March 2026) Request for City of Shelby, NC Government: All current employees and salary data.
Good afternoon, Carol, Beth, Deborah, (Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),
Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
Please provide the names and salaries of all current City of Shelby, NC employees as of the present day [on the date the query is performed]. I consider the term “employee” to apply to any full or part time employees, staff, board member, manager, elected official, etc. Please include the following:
1) First / Last name
2) Position / Title / Department
3) Employment status (full-time/part-time)
4) Date of hire
5) Salary [include hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]
6) Effective date of current pay rate.
Ideally, I’d like to receive this info in an Excel, PDF, or other machine-readable format. However, I’ll accept the records in any electronic medium in which you’re capable of producing them.

I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to “inspect”, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists).
