(March 2026) Request for Wilson County, NC Government: DSS employees, salaries, promotions, demotions, transfers, suspensions, separations, changes in position classification, disciplinary actions. 11/01/2023 – present day.
Good evening Stephen, Angel, Ron, Kimberly, (Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),
Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
Please provide a list of all Wilson County, NC Department of Social Services (DSS) employees working at any point during the period of 11/01/2023 through the present day [on the date the query is performed]. This request is not limited to "current employees" who happen to have also been working in 2023, 2024, or 2025. I'm looking for a list of all people who have been DSS employees at any point during the time period specified.
If it’s simplest for you to do so, please break these reports down by month or year. Please include the following:
A. First / Last name
B. Position / title / department
C. Date of hire
D. “Full-time” or “Part-time” designation
E. Salary [include hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]
F. Date and Type of each promotion, demotion, transfer, suspension, separation, other changes in position classification, any disciplinary action, and demotion for disciplinary reasons. I am not requesting any confidential details. Only a general description and reason for each of these types of events as permitted by Law.
Ideally, I’d like to receive this info in an Excel, PDF, or other machine-readable format. However, I’ll accept the records in any electronic medium in which you’re capable of producing them.
** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to “inspect”, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **
