(May 2022) Request for Asheville, NC City Government: All emails and texts between City and HUD 11/01/2020 – 04/29/22 regarding Deed

Hello City of Asheville, NC Government (Records Officer),

I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law.
Ref: https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html

Once you receive this request, please do not send me a reply back asking whether I’d “like to further clarify or narrow the scope”. I’m telling you now that I do not wish to further narrow the scope of the following request:

In regards to “DEED 1648/214”. Please provide all correspondence (emails and texts) between the City of Asheville and HUD regarding deed 1648/214, including its dedication 1573/074. In particular, I believe that residents were told City legal staff had coordinated with HUD to understand what would be needed to change the use of this land or sell the land.

[NOTE: The sender has indicated the relevant “start” and “end” date for this information should be 11/01/2020 through 04/29/22.]

Where applicable – Please include all .PDFs, files, attachments, videos, hyperlinks, photos, etc. that are indicated within the responsive records. For example: A .PDF that is an attachment within an email or text record, should also be provided as an accompanying file along with the responsive emails.

Things like emails and text messages already exist in a digital format (electronic medium). Therefore, you should be able to provide those records as requested under NC Public Records Law. You should also be able to provide these records in an electronic format such as Google Drive link, Dropbox folder, emailed response, .PDF, CD / Flash drive (if necessary), or other electronic format.

** If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

Thank you for your assistance!
