Memos related to City budget

At the April 10th Budget Session, Asheville City Council members referred to a memo related to the budget process with a proposal for raises given to City employees making less than $50K, while freezing salaries above that level.

I would like to request a copy of that memo, as an example, but also any other memos sent to members of City Council regarding the City Budget.

I would request any memos sent from January 1st, 2018 until the date the query is run, or June 30th 2018, whichever occurs first.

    I followed-up with a budget staff representative. The referenced employee raises documentation is the last page of this memo, located in the April 10 materials on the webpage. Staff also confirmed the webpage is updated, and all memos regarding the 18-19 FY budget process are on the webpage.

    Hi Sarah,

     

    Thank you for providing the link to the budget process – it looks like some information has been added to that page recently, which is great!

     

    However, we do not believe the information on this page satisfies our request. We believe there may be additional memos or reports that have been exchanged internally between members of staff, or between staff and City Council which are not posted on the site.

     

    To cite one example – at the April 10th budget workshop, Councilmember Haynes referenced a memo or report that indicated the cost impact of providing raises only to employees making less than $50K. We have not been able to locate a memo or report with that information on the budget process page.

     

    To be clear, we’re not requesting just that memo – but that one and any others that have been exchanged during this year’s budget process.
