Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
Please provide the names and salaries of all “Rockingham County, NC Judicial Center” employees from 01/01/2024 to present day (date the query is performed). To clarify – this request is not specific to "current employees" who happen to have been working since January 2024. I'm looking for a list of all people who worked (or work) for RCJC at any point during the specified period.
Please include the following:
1) Employee first / last name
2) Date of hire
3) Position / Title / Department / Agency
4) Salary [including hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]
If for some reason it isn’t possible to query the data in the manner requested please explain this reasoning.
Ideally, I’d like to receive the responsive records in an Excel, or other machine-readable format. If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

Can you please specify exactly who is responsible for maintaining basic salary data for the Rockingham County, NC Judicial Center?
I am not interested in requesting individual personnel files. I have requested basic salary data (name / position / date of hire / salary) for employees working in 2024 and 2025.
Basic salary data requests are very commonly produced, and widely considered a matter of public record for all NC employees. Most entities produce this type of record in 1 week, or in most cases, one day.
It’s unclear if you’re saying you are unable, or unwilling, to produce this data? If you do have access to the data, it is simple to produce an electronic report. You are not being asked to create or compile a record that doesn’t exist by simply having to “generate a report” in order to produce that electronic data. That is not the same thing as “creating a record that doesn’t exist.”
If you intend to further delay or deny the fulfillment of this valid public records request, please specifically cite where / why it is justified by Law.

To reiterate:
Can you please clarify your comment that “nothing in this section shall be construed to require a public agency to respond to a request for a copy of a public record by creating or compiling a record that does not exist.” ?
Querying data in order to generate a report does not constitute “creating or compiling” a record “that does not exist.” Salary data is a very common request, and is easily produced electronically in 1 day or less.
Additionally. If you meant to say that your office is not the appropriate contact to request salary data related to Rockingham County, NC Judicial Center employees — can you please specify exactly who is? (Name and Email address). The link you referenced is just a directory with 64 possible contacts (phone numbers only) in Rockingham County.
