(October 2025) Request for Henderson County, NC Government: List of all employees and salaries. 07/01/25 – present day.
Good evening Kathryn, Mike, Randall, Russ, (Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),
Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
Please provide the names and salaries of all Henderson County, NC employees who were employed at any point in time from July 01, 2025 through the present day [on the date the query is performed]. Please include the following:
1) Employee first / last name
2) Date of hire
3) Position / Title / Department
4) Salary [including hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]
If for some reason it is not possible to query the data in the manner requested (during a specific period of time), then please explain this reasoning. At that point I will consider how to revise my request.
Ideally, I’d like to receive the responsive records in a PDF, Excel, or other machine-readable format. If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.
** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to “inspect”, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

A new file was uploaded just now. It shows employees whose work with the County terminated between 7/01/2025 and the date of the previous report. I note that “terminated” includes “retired”, as I see a now former paralegal on that list. Let me know if this fills the request, please.

My request is not department or name specific. I’m asking for:
“… names and salaries of all Henderson County, NC employees who were employed at any point in time from July 01, 2025 through the present day”.
The report should include:
First / last name, Date of hire, Position / Title / Department, Salary [hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary — whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]..If it isn’t possible to query the data in the manner requested (during a specific period of time), please ask HR to explain this reasoning. At that point I’ll consider how to revise my request.

I have no idea if there are differences, but I’ve forwarded your question to our HR, who prepared the report, who can clarify (and give any additions to the list to answer). Is there a name or a department I can tell them to concentrate on (the quick version of the report from the software is what they provided; beyond that will take more work/time)?

Can you please clarify whether the document includes salaries for all employees during all points of time from July 01 – present?
This request is not specific to “current employees” who happen to have been working since July. I’m looking for a list of all people employed at any point during the last three months, even if they are no longer employed.
