(October 2025) Request for Polk County, NC Government: List of all employees and salaries. 02/01/25 – present day.

Good evening Kellie, Sandra, Tommy, Kennedy, Marche, (Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),

I first attempted to submit my request via your online records form at https://app.polimorphic.com/react/organizations/polk-county-nc.administration/blueprints/request-a-public-record/apply. However, you have “mandatory” fields required on your form (such as address, first / last name, phone number). Please note - by Law, this type of info is not required in order for you to process a public records request. I’d like to suggest that you amend your form to “require” only necessary fields.

I cannot submit my request to you in your preferred format. Therefore, I’m submitting it to you all directly, as you are the primary custodian(s) of these records, and by Law should now proceed to fulfill the request.

Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html

Please provide the names and salaries of all Polk County, NC employees who were employed at any point in time from February 01, 2025 through the present day [on the date the query is performed]. Please include the following:

1) Employee first / last name
2) Date of hire
3) Position / Title / Department
4) Salary [including hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee]

If for some reason it is not possible to query the data in the manner requested (during a specific period of time), then please explain this reasoning. At that point I will consider how to revise my request.

Ideally, I’d like to receive the responsive records in a PDF, Excel, or other machine-readable format. If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to “inspect”, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **
