We submitted an identical request for this information to Onslow County, NC Schools on 10/29/25. We followed up on 11/06/25 and 11/21/25, and did not receive a reply. Having received no response, we notified them on 11/21/25 that we were marking the request as having been “Denied” by their organization. Later on that same day, Jessica Wells (Public Information Assistant) then confirmed the request was “… received and shared with the appropriate staff members.”
We followed up on 12/03/25, 12/10/25, and 01/08/26, and did not receive a reply. On 01/12/26 Jessica said, “We have shared your request with the appropriate staff members and have reached out for an update. We hope to be in touch with more information soon.”
We followed up about this on 01/22/26 and 01/29/26, and did not receive a reply. Having made reasonable attempts to follow up since October 2025, on 01/29/26 we once again notified OCNCS that we were marking this request as having been “Denied” by their organization. We did not hear back.
Until we receive another response from Jessica, OCNCS, or the Board, unfortunately it won’t be possible for our small Team to continue to spend time sending them new requests. We apologize for this inconvenience! In the meantime – we’d ask that you please consider calling / emailing / reaching out to the Board directly for assistance with any new requests you’d like to make.

Who should I contact if I think there are results of requests that have been improperly disclosed or should be redacted?
The results of all Completed requests are published on our site, and have been provided to Sunshine Request directly by the disclosing government agency (government entity).
Sunshine Request’s policy in situations involving an alleged improper disclosure is to refer you to the disclosing agency (government entity). If any party feels that an alleged improper disclosure has taken place, please contact the disclosing agency (government entity) directly.
If the disclosing agency, after a review of your case, determines that confidential information was improperly disclosed, and notifies us of such disclosure, we will then be able to review your case.
Similarly — Sunshine Request has reviewed any info given to us from OCNCS to determine if it satisfied the initial request. We make no claim as to the veracity of records / responses we receive from Entities. If you have reason to believe that OCNCS or the Board of Education have improperly disclosed (or are not disclosing) all available public records in accordance with NC Public Records Law, we encourage you to reach out to them directly.
