06/12/23. Editor’s Note to Sender: The submission(s) above have been marked as “Completed”. As they are written currently, it is unclear what specific public records the sender would like to receive, or how many requests are being made.

– As we began to review the 3 similar requests above, we first attempted to rewrite Request # 2 (see drafted below). However, in looking at the original Subjects vs. the original Messages of all three of requests as a whole… we realized that some of the information is redundant, unclear, and in some cases more like informational questions for the Government entities to answer (rather than a clear request for public records).

– Also. By mentioning multiple government entities within Request # 1 , and by making similar requests again in # 2 and # 3 , the sender is really asking to make four separate requests, which we’d need to send as unique requests to two different entities (Huntersville and Cornelius). We think, however, the sender probably only means to submit two requests for similar information regarding uniforms, and that much of what is being requested can be rewritten and simplified.

– It is also unclear whether the items in Request # 1 are supposed to be different than the info sought in the other two requests. For example: Are you just trying to obtain records about a specific RFP process, proposals received during a bidding process to price out the Police uniforms, as well as the signed contracts for the winning bids… during one specific time period?

– Finally, in comparing the timeline info in the “Start Date / End Date” fields the sender submitted to our site, as well as the info written into the actual requests (particularly — the use of the word “current”), it is unclear to what time period the records you’re requesting should apply.

Clarifying all of this info will help to greatly narrow the request, and it will reduce the amount of time it takes the Towns of Huntersville and Cornelius, as well as our team, to process the requests.

We’d ask that the sender please submit any new request(s) to clearly indicate a specific date range and any other specific details, subject matter, message, etc. about the exact public records that are being requested, and to what entity each request is being made.
