Since it is not required – I’m electing not to fill out any records request forms you may try to send me. I’ve discussed this matter with Roger in the past. I’m making a public records request under NC Public records law NCGS 132, under which there is no provision requiring an individual to provide a name, address, or even a purpose, in order to make a public records request. Therefore, I’m submitting this request to you all directly, via email.
The type of basic salary data I’m requesting (Name, Title, Salary) is simple to provide, is very commonly produced, and is widely considered a matter of public record as part of the public personnel file of school employees. Many community colleges around the state fulfill requests like this via email in 1 week, and in many cases 1 day. You have also provided this record to me before.
Please provide a list of ALL current Catawba Valley Community College [Hickory, NC] Employees / Staff, and their salaries. As of 09/28/23 or present day (on the date the query is actually performed). Please include the following:
1) Employee first / last name
2) Current Position / Title / Department
3) Current Salary (including hourly wage, hourly rate, or salary -- whichever payment structure is applicable to the employee)
Ideally, I’d like to receive the responsive records in an Excel or machine-readable format, if possible. If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.
** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to "inspect", nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record should already exist).
I do not have any further clarifying info I wish to provide to narrow this request. If the request is unclear, or if you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law.**
