    Good morning Sunshine Request,
    The City has had not had any bid opportunities or contracts for these services, therefore there are no records responsive to this request. However, our Communications and Public Engagement Department has shared the following information that may be of use to the requester.

     

    When the City has used translation services it has been a fee for services rendered to date and, additionally, we use the following interpretation/translation companies:
    Cenzontle LLC Language Coop – their website is https://www.cenzontle.coop/. They are local and until our use of the company below, we used them exclusively to do written and verbal translation at public meetings. It is a fee for services not by a contract.

     

    Through the City Purchasing Dept., CAPE and a few other departments (especially Transportation/Transit) were made aware of a State Term Contract for translation services. We have been using United Language Group (ULG) to assist with our needs along with Cenzontle as we needed an option to do on-the-spot language interpretation for our customer services, transit, etc.

     

    We do not contract with them as the State bids on this term contracts for use by State and local government agencies. Attached is the contract we currently work from at this time. It is a fee for services contract – we pay when we use their services only.
