Hello Asheville, NC City Schools (Records Officer),
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information:
I believe that Melissa Hedt was recently named Deputy Superintendent of AVL City Schools. I'd like to know what is her new total salary, as well as what benefits she receives, with totals (including Base, Supplement, Health Insurance, Travel and Mobile).
Please provide the most responsive records as of 04/07/21 (or on the date the query is performed).

This is our fourth time checking to see if there is any update to report on this request that was sent in on 4/13: (April 2021) Request for Asheville, NC City Schools Deputy Superintendent salary info as of 04/07/21
We last heard from Ashley relating to this request on 4/14 and she said: “I will work with the district’s Human Resources Department to complete this request.”
We’ve received additional requests asking for this information as well. However, as there has been no response, in the interest of getting this closed on our site we’re going to mark this as denied for now and should you wish to respond / complete this request in the future we can reopen it at that time.

We last heard from Ashley relating to this request on 4/14 and she said: “I will work with the district’s Human Resources Department to complete this request.”
Please let me know if there is a more appropriate email contact to handle public record requests that relate to ACS. We’ve received another request for this exact same information again as of 7/31 and are holding off sending it in until we have received a response to the request above so that there is no duplication. I will make one more attempt to follow up in mid-August, before marking this request as denied. Should you wish to reply at some point in the future once the request has been marked as denied, I can reopen it and mark it as completed.

You’re correct, Melissa Hedt was named the Deputy Superintendent of Accountability and Instruction on March 7th.
I will work with the district’s Human Resources Department to complete this request; however, please know that, as Ms. Hedt begins her new role as Deputy Superintendent, the district will be reducing an administrative position not adding another person to Central Services, as ACS will not be filling her previous role as Executive Director of Curriculum and Equity nor the forthcoming vacancy of Chief Academic Officer, as ACS’s current Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Dana Ayers, has accepted the role of Jackson County’s Superintendent effective June 1st.
