(April 2022) Multi-part request for Asheville, NC City Government: AVL City Council, ACS Central Office staff, and ACS Foundation texts and emails regarding Asheville Primary School. 01/01/2020 – 12/21/2021

Hello City of Asheville, NC Government (Records Officer),

I'd like to make a multi-part public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law.
Ref: https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html

Once you receive this request, please do not send me a reply back asking whether I’d “like to further clarify or narrow the scope”. I’m telling you now that I do not wish to further narrow the scope of the following request:

A) Please provide all texts and emails exchanged between Asheville City Council / Council members, regarding Asheville Primary School and concerning public comment about the fate thereof. Please provide all responsive records during the specific time period of January 01, 2020 through December 31, 2021.

B) Please provide all texts and emails exchanged between Asheville City Council / Council members and Asheville City Schools Central Office Staff, regarding Asheville Primary School and concerning public comment about the fate thereof. Please provide all responsive records during the specific time period of January 01, 2020 through December 31, 2021.

C) Please provide all texts and emails exchanged between Asheville City Council / Council members and Asheville City Schools Foundation, regarding Asheville Primary School and concerning public comment about the fate thereof. Please provide all responsive records during the specific time period of January 01, 2020 through December 31, 2021.

For all items A - C above. Where applicable – Please include all .PDFs, files, attachments, videos, hyperlinks, photos, etc. that are indicated within the responsive records. For example: A .PDF that is an attachment within an email or text record, should also be provided as an accompanying file along with the responsive emails.

Things like emails and text messages already exist in a digital format (electronic medium). Therefore, you should be able to provide those records as requested under NC Public Records Law. You should also be able to provide these records in an electronic format such as Google Drive link, Dropbox folder, emailed response, .PDF, CD / Flash drive (if necessary), or other electronic format.

** If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

Thank you for your assistance!
