** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I am NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to inspect, nor to obtain a printed copy of, these electronic records. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of these records should already exist).
I do not have any further clarifying info I wish to provide to narrow this request. If the request is unclear, or if you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of the request, then please specifically cite where a reason for its denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **
Please provide a list of all current Appointees and Vacancies on all Buncombe County Boards / Commissions / Task Forces / Committees that the County Commissioners appoint. As of 08/28/23 or present day (date the query is performed).
Ideally, I’d like to receive the responsive records in an Excel or other machine-readable format, if possible.
Please include the following – First and Last name of the appointee, their email address, their county commission district (or street address and zip code), board or commission name, the role of the appointee on the committee (chair, vice chair, etc.), the date appointed, the date that the appointment ends, terms served, the maximum number of terms allowed, any demographic information that was collected as part of the application or review process (age, sex, race, ethnicity, political affiliation).
I am seeking a current snapshot of this data. So all Appointees and Vacancies as of August 28 or present day.
Hopefully, this info is all housed in a database already, and can be extracted with relative ease. However, if you believe this request will take a long time to complete, then please provide the data in small batches over time.
If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

I’m following up on my last message above (11/21 @ 4:32pm). I have not heard back. To reiterate:
I received your email on another thread on the morning of 11/21, where you confirmed that you’d be “following up” with an individual from the public who had been communicating with you directly, about my request.

The last time I wrote to you to ask for clarification about my request was on Nov 10, 2023, 11:24 AM. I’m still waiting for a response to that message in particular. – 1. I asked for these records as of the present day. This typically means, “on the date the query is performed”. I submitted this request to you on Aug. 28, and the document wasn’t provided to me until Nov. 08 — Can you please specify the date on which the responsive data was accurate? I do not see that indicated in the document.
– 2. The document you’ve sent only shows first_name last_name board_name position term_lengtterm_max_number. The appointee email address, county commission district (or street address and zip code), the date appointed, the date that the appointment ends, terms served, and “any demographic information that was collected as part of the application or review process (age, sex, race, ethnicity, political affiliation)” … have not been provided as requested. Can you please clarify why these records have not been provided?
– 3. Some of the text has been cut off at the end of each row in the column called term_lengt. I cannot see everything that’s been written. Can you please look into this and fix?
