Editor’s Note: We recently “Completed” a request (referenced above) called “Maternity Leave Policy of Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office”. The request asked:
“Hi, I am reviewing policies of the Buncombe County District Attorneys Office and how they affect the cases and lives of citizens. The first policy I want to review is the maternity leave policy. I want to know what happens to cases assigned to assistant district attorneys go out on medical leave. How is the void filled when an ADA goes on extended leave? I want to review the entire medical leave policies and how work is assigned in the absence. Thank you for your assistance.”
The results of that request can be found at https://www.sunshinerequest.com/records_request/maternity-leave-policy-buncombe-county-district-attorneys-office/
That request is very similar to the new request (above at top). Since we’ve already received clarification answering some parts of the new request above, the message that will be sent in to gov. is as follows:
Subject: Buncombe County District Attorneys Office Maternity/Sick Leave Policy
Message: “I’d like the request the Buncombe County District Attorneys Office policies surrounding what happens to criminal cases in the DA’s office when an Assistant DA goes out on maternity/sick leave. Are the cases of Assistant district attorneys reassigned to other Assistant District Attorneys in their absence, or do the criminal cases sit on hold until the assigned Assistant District Attorney returns to work? I would Like to see the DA’s policy surrounding case reassignment when an ADA is out on medical leave. Thank You very much for any assistance.”
