(February 2021) Request for Transylvania County, NC Covid 19 vaccine totals as of 02/15/21
Hello Transylvania County, NC Government,
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law:
1) Please provide the total number of Covid 19 vaccines that have actually been delivered to Transylvania County, NC (as of 02/15/21 (or the date the query is performed).
2) Please provide the number of vaccines administered to Transylvania County employees, by department, as of 02/15/21 (or the date the query is performed).

subject: RE: Records Request: (February 2021) Request for Transylvania County, NC Covid 19 vaccine totals as of 02/15/21Attached is a spreadsheet that shows our state allocation for this week as well as a tab showing the history by provider in each county.
For the question of county employees by department who have received the vaccine, the health department cannot release any records that could prove to provide identifying information of those vaccinated under HIPPA and there is no releasable report available for the requested criteria. They did assure that they can confirm that county employees who qualified under 1a (later changed to Group 1 by state definition) were offered the vaccine in preparation for conducting vaccination efforts. As a provider, the health department has not offered vaccines beyond Group 2. Remaining county employees will be eligible in Group 3.
(Statement from Transylvania County Manager Jaime Laughter: The one employee I can authorize release of medical information is myself and I have not received the vaccine. I will qualify in Group 3 under the state and will wait until our health department has been able to serve the demand in Group 2 adequately since they are the higher risk population.)
There is a state dashboard that shows vaccination information by county including demographics. That report will include any provider in the state who has vaccinated an individual who is a resident in our county. There are other providers who have chosen to vaccinate in state eligible Group 3 that have served eligible residents in Transylvania County.
