Hello again Rachel and Laura (or Wake Technical Community College Records Officer),
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law

Please provide a list of ALL current Wake Tech Community College Employees (Faculty / Administration / Staff) and their salaries as of 02/28/2023 or present day (date the query is performed). Please include the following:
1. Employee first / last name
2. Current Position / Title / Department
3. Current annual salary (including hourly wage, hourly rate, or annual salary -- whichever is applicable to a full-time or part-time employe)
4. Date of hire
If possible, please provide this information in a spreadsheet or machine readable format.
If any / all of this information is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

I am NOT asking to come in person to inspect, nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. before then.I did catch after my first email, that your address in the CCs was incorrect (missing a “u” at the end) — which is why I added you back and fixed the address yesterday.
———Regarding “frequency” and planning: No – I’m sorry. I cannot provide you with an anticipated frequency for this type of request.
Sunshine Request (www.sunshinerequest.com) is an anonymous, free community project built by our small 3-person team in Asheville, NC. We created the platform to make it easier for citizens to make public records requests. We allow users to anonymously submit requests to our Team to fulfill, and we don’t require any personal info to be submitted in order for our Team to process requests. This means we also cannot verify who submits a request to our website, or how / if any responsive records may be used (by anyone other than our 3-person team). We also do not know how frequently they may want to make the same or similar requests. (In North Carolina that type of detail is not legally required in order to process requests).
We do not send the results of requests directly to individuals, and we publish the results of all completed requests on our website, for the benefit of the public. Therefore, we do have many policies in place about what types of requests we will and won’t submit, what may be too broad / unreasonable etc. And, we have a Code of Conduct on our website that asks users: “Please do not use Sunshine Request or any of the results of public records requests to harass government entities / employees, businesses, private citizens / individuals, or otherwise.”
The last time I ([email protected]) made a similar request to you for salary info (or made any request at all), was on June 30, 2022. While I personally do not have plans to continue to make similar requests “frequently”, I cannot speak for how often or when I will receive other new records requests through our website that I will need to send to Wake Tech.

———–We do not know whether Wake Tech Community already has a public data dashboard with salary info, or if their salary info is proactively being made public online. We’re happy to continue to send in records requests on senders’ behalf to obtain updated salary info — And we’ve recommended to senders, as we will to you now as well — that if senders plans to request updated employee salaries on a monthly or even semi-regular basis, then we strongly recommend they encourage Wake Tech to consider posting that type of info on your website (or on an open data dashboard), on a recurring basis – As it is in the public interest, and will save staff time.
Perhaps something similar to what the City of Asheville, NC uses:
