Please include School Board voting records for any initial Superintendent contract approvals, and any Superintendent contract amendment approvals, since his hire date.

It has been another eight days since my previous email notifying you that I need a response.
On Friday Sept. 18th Phil indicated the records would be provided “… upon [his] return on Monday.” I followed up about this on Wednesday Sept. 23rd, but received no response.
The data requested should be farily simple to provide. I’ve received no explanation to this point as to why it’s aken 3 months, and has still not been fulfilled.
It is concerning that simple records about the Superintendent and School Board cannot be promptly provided to the public.
I’ve made reasonable attempts to follow up since first submitting the request back on June 18th. If the records are not produced by this afternoon, I will need to mark my request as having been “Denied” by your organization.

I followed up twice, until finally receiving a response from Philip on July 23rd in which he indicated, “… At this time, we anticipate the records will be available on or before Monday, August 5. If our timeline changes or we have additional information to share before then, we will let you know.”
I have not heard anything else since July 23rd, nor have I received a response to my emails following up about this on August 27th and September 9th.

Under NC Public Records Law, your office is required to “promptly” process all public records requests. Essentially, this means that if you intentionally delay the fulfillment of a request by allowing it to “sit” until staff has availability to address it, or feels like answering my emails, then this could be considered a denial of a request. With this in mind, I want to highlight the court case referenced in item #6 of the following article, posted on the NC Press Association website.
