Good afternoon Buncombe County Sheriff's Office (Records Officer),
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law.

This request is regarding “BCSO Training Emails.”
Please provide all emails sent to, or received from, any Buncombe County Sheriff's Office email address from 05/01/22 through 05/18/22 (or present day) with the word "training" or referencing training, training schedules, canceled training, etc.
Where applicable – Please include all .PDFs, files, attachments, videos, hyperlinks, photos, etc. that are indicated within the responsive records. For example: A .PDF that is an attachment within an email, should also be provided.

Thank you for your reply.
I find it concerning if you have not received any update, and/or if you haven’t followed up with IT, about the status of the request since May 31st (which is when you initially said it was submitted to IT for a search).
You have said a couple times since then that you have not heard anything back from IT. Can you please follow up with Eric / IT to confirm that the request is being processed, and when they expect completion?
We are concerned if the County is intentionally delaying their response / fulfillment of the request above. The County is required to process all valid public records requests under NC Public Records Law, and do so as promptly as possible. With this in mind — I’d like to highlight the court case referenced in item #6 of the following article, posted on the NC Press Association website. In this instance: “The trial court held that an unjustified one-month delay in production of records was tantamount to a denial”.
