North Carolina Department of State Treasurer

Dear Custodian of Records:
Under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1., I am requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of electronic records of communication generated from the following North Carolina Department of State Treasurer email accounts (both emails received and sent individually and/or CC'd on incoming and outgoing group correspondence) that were saved as drafts, deleted, sent, received, or forwarded between 12:01AM Thursday November 15th through 9:00PM Thursday, November 29th.

If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me if the cost will exceed $50. However, I would also like to request a waiver of all fees in that the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest and will contribute significantly to the public's understanding of the use of public tax dollars. This information is not being sought for commercial purposes.
The law requires that you respond to and fulfill this request "as promptly as possible." If you expect a significant delay in responding to and fulfilling this request, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.
If you deny any or all of this request by withholding records or redacting information from records provided, please provide a written statement citing each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information, subject to judicial review and imposition of statutory costs, attorneys' fees and a civil penalty for wrongful denial outlined in the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
