Editor’s Note: Sunshine Request makes no claim as to the veracity of any statements or information contained in any of the requests, or public records, we receive.
Editor’s Note 07/06/21: We apologize for the delay in processing and publishing this request on our site. Sunshine Request is a project built and run by a small team at PRC Applications. We run the site in addition to our primary business. While we will always do our best to process and follow up on requests as quickly as possible, there may be occasional delays, depending on our availability in a given week or month.
** The above submission has been revised for clarity. As originally written, it is unclear what specific information the sender hopes to receive. The request we send in will read as follows:
Subject: (July 2021) Request for Transylvania County, NC: Cedar Mountain Small Area Plan communications 11/01/2020 – 06/07/2021
Hello Transylvania County, NC Government (Records Officer and Board of Commissioners Clerk),
I’d like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law.
This request relates to public documents made or received by Transylvania County Government and its Staff:
Please provide all communications [emails, mail, electronic documents, text messages, other written documents, and any other electronic medium] generated during the course of conducting the business of the County Commission appointed “Cedar Mountain Small Area Plan” (also known as CMSAP, SAP, the Small Area Plan, or Small Area Planning Process for Cedar Mountain).
Specifically, I’d like to see all those relevant communications which were sent to, written by, copied on, CCed, BCCed, or forwarded, to the following County employees and Officials’ email addresses during the specific time period of November 01, 2020 through June 7, 2021:
– Jamie Laughter
– Allen McNeal
– Jason Chappell
– Jake Dalton
– Mike Hawkins
– Page Lemel
– Larry Chapman
– Theresa (or Teresa) McCall
– David Guice
For all requested items above, please provide all .pdfs, files, attachments, videos, hyperlinks, etc. that are indicated within the responsive records. For example: A .pdf that is an attachment within an email, should also be provided as a document along with the responsive emails.
Please include all of those additional documents where applicable, as relates to the requested information above.
If the records are ultimately too large to send via emailed file share, I’d ask that you please create a public Google Drive folder / link or some other file format to transfer the files electronically.
Thank you for your assistance!
Sunshine Request will not fulfill the following types of requests:
- ☀️ Requests that are only informational questions [rather than a specific request for public records], and requests that are not addressed to government entities.
- ☀️ Requests that are incomplete, non-specific, or vague.
While we do proofread requests we receive for general spelling and clarity, we may choose not to fulfill the request if it is incomplete, or it is unclear what specific information the requester hopes to receive. In this case, the sender may rewrite and resubmit the request.
** Additionally, please note –
Sunshine Request does not control if / when Government entities will confirm receipt, begin processing, complete, or deny requests we submit to them via our website. If you would like to make a request that is time sensitive, we recommend that you reach out to the appropriate government entity directly for assistance with a request, rather than submitting through our site.
Sunshine Request is run by a very small team. We do our best to review and send in requests to the appropriate entities as quickly as we are able, and it is up to the Government agency to determine the timeline and speed with which the request can be processed. We generally try to follow up on requests once every 1 – 2 weeks as we’re able, until the government agency has confirmed that the request has been received and is being processed (and there is some timeline for completion), and we will wait to follow up again during the time period they specify.
Please do not send us additional submissions asking that we “follow up on” a request on our site, or to ask for a status update on a request. If at any time you would like to track the status of your request, please “Search” for your request via the “Search box” or by viewing the list of requests on theView All Requests page. Any updates we receive will be posted on our site as soon as we are able.
We are a small team — due to holidays, unforeseen events / scheduling conflicts, there may be times that we cannot publish or update requests for several days. We will do our best to process all requests as quickly as possible.
Before submitting a request, please take a moment to review our tips for How to write and make a successful request. If you have additional questions about our site or how to make requests, please check out our FAQs or Policies page.
