(September 2021) Request for City of Brevard, NC sidewalk requirement info

Hello City of Brevard, NC (Records Officer),

I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law:

A. Please provide the current Brevard, NC City Ordinance / UDO Requirements for sidewalks along roadway of new business construction.

B. Also, please provide the date that the City Of Brevard will construct the required sidewalk along Railroad Ave in front of new depot.

Please see responses and attachments with regards to your request below:

Jill-

I was asked to: A. Provide UDO Requirements for sidewalks along roadways of new businesses and, B. Provide the dates that the City of Brevard will construct the required sidewalk along Railroad Avenue in front of the new Depot.

The attached is a pdf of the most relevant sections of the UDO pertaining to sidewalk requirements. The entire UDO is published online, on the City’s website, so a sunshine request for that information is unnecessary since it is readily accessible to all. There is sidewalk language peppered throughout the UDO and a search engine window where a person can find what they are looking for. The City built a 10-foot wide multi-use path behind the Depot. A multi-use path is depicted on map 8-3, which is page 47 of the 2018 Pedestrian Plan. There are no plans for an additional sidewalk as the multiuse path fulfills that purposes.
