  Hi Aaron,

   

  I’m sorry for any confusion that the volume or similarity of requests has caused. We’ve been following up on quite a lot of them for the past several months. I appreciate you taking time to read our emails, and follow along with what requests we’re trying to close out on our site.

   

  To keep things straight, I’ve tried to be Exact with the Titles and even include the URLs when referring to specific requests. There are several on our site with very similar titles or similar requests for info. related to the Sheriff’s department. I agree it can be confusing.

   

  The request called “Sheriffs Office Salaries” was from May 14, 2018, and is marked as “Complete” on our site as of June 05, 2018. https://www.sunshinerequest.com/records_request/sheriff-dept-employee-salaries/. Message: “I would like to request a list of all of the salaries for all Buncombe County Sheriff Department Deputies and Administrative staff.”

   

  The “Open” request you’ve mentioned in “Follow Up” status, is from May 17, 2018. Title: “Sheriff Dept employee salaries (July 1st 2016 – June 30th 2018)” https://www.sunshinerequest.com/records_request/sheriff-dept-employee-salaries/.
  Message: “Please provide Sheriff’s Department employee salaries from July 1st 2016 through June 30th 2018 (or the date that the query is performed).”

   

  Specific to this “Open” request, we were only trying to follow up specifically on Natalie Bailey’s response from June 5, 2018. She said, “The salary information you requested on the aforementioned date can be obtained by going to https://www.buncombecounty.org/transparency/default.aspx , and clicking the “positions & pay” tab.”

   

  It was unclear to us when following that link, whether we could access the info. to specifically include the time period requested, or if could be filtered by date, and if it couldn’t we asked that Natalie please provide that info.

   

  Your answer here today does clarify that question. Thank you for this! The request called “Sheriff Dept employee salaries (July 1st 2016 – June 30th 2018)” will now be marked as “Complete” on our site.

  Following up on this, I think the thread became pretty confusing when I was added to the mix. The email on 1/16 says it will be marked as completed, but the current status is “follow up.”

   

  Let’s just take it from the top because it’s so hard to follow …

   

  The original question was:

   

  “Please provide Sheriff’s Department employee salaries from July 1st 2016 through June 30th 2018 (or the date that the query is performed).”

   

  This link provides the positions and pay for all Buncombe County employees, the Sheriff’s Office is included in that:

  Those are the current salaries as of today (2/4/2019) and that page should update as any pay increases or pay changes are made.

   

  The salaries on the page, while current, also cover the time frame going back to 7/1/2016 because the salary ranges have not changed for the Sheriff’s Office during that time period.
