(April 2021) Request for City of Salisbury, NC employee emails and texts 07/01/2020 – 04/01/2021
Hi City of Salisbury, NC Government (Records Officer),
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information:
Please provide all text messages and emails sent between City of Salisbury, NC employees Jerry Stokes and W. Lane Bailey from July 01, 2020 through April 01, 2021.
This request should also include all attachments (pdfs, files, videos, hyperlinks, photos, etc), and forwards that are indicated within the responsive records. [For example: A .pdf that is an attachment within an email, should also be provided as a document along with the responsive emails].
Please include all of those additional documents where applicable, as relates to the requested information above.
If the records are ultimately too large to send via emailed file share, I'd ask that you please create a public Google Drive folder / link or some other file format to transfer the files electronically.

Following up a sixth time on my initial email I sent to you on 10/14/21 where I said:
“I appreciate your help, but am having trouble opening the file. As best I can tell, a .PST file can only be opened with Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express, of which I have neither. Would it be possible for you to resend the file in some other format, like a .PDF or something?”
I am now going to mark this request as denied, but if you wish to reply in the future I will go ahead and reopen this request at that point.

I apologize for any confusion. Upon further review, I’ve determined that the request above has not actually been “Completed”. Though similarly titled, is a different request with different content from the one you’ve referenced in a June 24th email.
On June 24, we did Complete a request for:
“ (April 2021) Request for City of Salisbury, NC employee(s) emails 07/01/20 – 04/02/21 ”
Broadly — that request asked for 10 employee’s emails during a specific time period. This is the thread that also included the email you’ve cited where we said we marked it as “Completed” on our website.
The current request that we’re following up on today, has a very similar title, but is a completely different request.
“ (April 2021) Request for City of Salisbury, NC employee emails and texts 07/01/2020 – 04/01/2021 ”
Broadly — this request asks for emails and text messages between 2 employees during a specific time period.
I apologize for any confusion, and we will do better in the future to make sure our requests are not titled so similarly.
We have reopened the current request on our site. If you could please let us know that you’re processing the request, we will hold off on following up again until the end of the month.
