Hello Buncombe County, NC Sheriff's Office (Records Officer),

I'd like to make a new public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law:

This request relates to “Buncombe County Sheriff's Office shift staffing levels”.

If such a record exists – Please provide the electronic copy of all BCSO daily rosters (what deputies are available to answer calls for each shift on each patrol squad) sent from Patrol Lieutenants to the Captain. During the specific time period of 10/01/2022 through 03/14/2023.

If any / all of this info is already publicly available online, please provide a link to where it can be accessed.

    Editor’s Note. Update 05/08/23: We called Aaron Sarver’s office today at 3:09pmEST. We left a voicemail explaining that our Team has been following up with Aaron via email since April 18th, regarding 3 different records requests we currently have “open” with his office. We have not received a response, and are still awaiting clarification.

     

    For reference, those 3 requests are:

     

    (November 2022) Multi-part request for Buncombe County, NC Sheriff’s Office: List of current Special Deputies. And any Special Deputies separated by Form F-5. 01/01/2022 – present day.

     

    (February 2023) Multi-part request for Buncombe County, NC Sheriff’s Office: Medical emergency policy manual and sections. Related to Bunc. Co. Detention Center staff. 01/01/2019 – present day.

     

    (March 2023) Request for Buncombe County, NC Sheriff’s Office: Daily “shift staffing” rosters sent from Patrol Lieutenants to Captain. 10/01/2022 – 03/14/2023.

     

    We will make one more attempt to follow up with Aaron (via phone) in another week or so, if we haven’t heard back. Any updates we receive, will be posted on our site.
