B) Please provide a list of all Special Deputies that have been separated (by filing a Form F-5 with the N.C. Sheriff's Standards Division) from the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office, during the specific time period of January 01, 2022 through the present day (date the query is performed). Please provide the date and reason for the separation, if this information is available.

Editor’s Note. Update 05/08/23: We called Aaron Sarver’s office today at 3:09pmEST. We left a voicemail explaining that our Team has been following up with Aaron via email since April 18th, regarding 3 different records requests we currently have “open” with his office. We have not received a response, and are still awaiting clarification.

Thanks for your reply.
As with all records requests processed through our website — our Team does the work of sending / following up on a request until it has either been completed, a timeline for its completion has been provided, or an entity cites a legal reason it cannot be fulfilled (or must be denied) in accordance with NC Public Records Law. This includes ensuring that a request is being fulfilled “as promptly as possible”.
If we’ve followed up multiple times with an entity and don’t hear back, in our experience we’ve found out later this was due to changes in staff, illness, or other unexplained delays related to our requests. In the event that we’ve made all reasonable efforts to follow up and don’t hear back — then “Denied” is a status designation we give the request at that time. This is so that we are not following up indefinitely with no resolution.
Since you have replied, I do not need to mark the request as “Denied” yet. We’re going to leave the request open, and I will follow up again next month (if we haven’t heard anything else before then).

This is my 3rd attempt to follow up regarding the status of the public records request above. First sent to your office on 11/30/22:
(November 2022) Multi-part request for Buncombe County, NC Sheriff’s Office: List of current Special Deputies. And any Special Deputies separated by Form F-5. 01/01/2022 – present day.I still have not received any response to the initial request, or to my subsequent emails. I find this unusual — since Aaron is usually very prompt with his replies.
Please confirm that the request has been received on your end, and please provide an anticipated date for completion.
This is my last attempt to follow up. If I have not heard back before the end of the month, I will mark this request as being “Denied” by your office.
