We understand what you’re saying, and will be re-reviewing all requests this week. We’ll let you know any that are still “open” and what the specific questions we have are, and whether or not the information has been provided.
Additionally, as we’ve told you in the past, our site is an anonymous tool built for making public records requests. We do not know who makes the requests through our site, and therefore do not contact / communicate with individuals about the requests on our site. We do however, post all updates we’ve received from you about requests on all of their appropriate threads on our site, so if at any time the original sender wants to view that information, they can.

“We will respond to the previous requests as we are able to address them. As I mentioned on the phone, we have to work with our attorneys to review the requests and our responses to assure we do not release any confidential personnel information. Also, the requests pertaining to the board vacancy dealt with the vacancy created by Mr. Murdock’s resignation and we have previously fulfilled comprehensive public records requests in that matter, which was widely reported by CNN.com and the Asheville Citizen-Times.”
We just want to clarify again that we are not affiliated with ACT or CNN, and we also do not know who submits requests on our site. We cannot speak to whether responses you may have provided to someone else outside of our website satisfies the info. being requested by users on our site. Unless requests are sent to you directly from our team at Sunshine Request ([email protected]), they should not be considered as an official request made by www.sunshinerequest.com.
As they are written, it is not clearly indicated by the senders that any of the requests are specifically for info. about Mr. Murdock in particular, or his apparent resignation. Therefore, the 6 requests will continue to be left “Open” until you are able to provide additional clarification, “Complete”, or “Deny” each request. We understand that this may take some time.
If you determine that any (or all) of the requests have been fulfilled, and if there are links to that info you’d like to send us showing that the requests have been fulfilled, we will be happy to share those links on our site and “Complete” the requests.
We really appreciate your time and assistance with the requests.

On 07/18/19 we received and sent another new AB-Tech related request for [July 2019] Request for Succession Planning – AB Tech. We have since received a response to that request which is similar to what we discussed on the phone, and seems to be intended to address several other requests on our site. We have provided a response requesting clarification.
We will wait to receive additional clarification from AB-Tech regarding each of the 6 previous requests, and will add those updates as we receive them.

I work for a website called Sunshine Request www.sunshinerequest.com. We built a site that makes it easier to make public records requests by filling out a simple form, and the results of any requests are posted on our site. This allows citizens to learn more about our local government, while saving staff from having to fulfill duplicate requests. If you have any questions about the project, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to answer.
We received a request for information that may be available in your office back in April, and have since received many other requests for A-B Tech. We were unable to locate the appropriate contact, but after emailing Carolyn H. Rice the other day she told us to get in touch with you for all record requests. We will be following up on each of those requests individually, and you should please reply only to that request, inline, on its appropriate email, so that there’s no confusion. If you can also please provide a rough estimate as to when the request will be completed, we will follow up again at that time.
