subject: Follow up on six 2019 public records requests from SunshineRequest.com
Hi Kerri and AB-Tech in Asheville, NC,
We hope that you’ve been having a good 2020 so far!
We apologize it has taken so long for us to notice we have not received additional replies from you about 6 requests (listed below) since July 26 of 2019. We’re a very small team, running Sunshine Request in addition to our primary business, and it can sometimes take us a while to get caught up with the requests.
We recently reviewed 6 “Open” requests on our site from 2019, and would like to ask that you please provide updates regarding the timeline for completion of those requests, including whether they are still being processed or have been “Denied”. For reference, those 6 are:
1. A-B Tech Emails Jan – March 2019

2. A-B Tech BOT Minutes Request 01/01/17-05/31/19

In a July 18, 2019 correspondence on a now completed request for “Succession Planning – AB Tech”, relevant to the other 6 requests you also indicated that:
“We will respond to the previous requests as we are able to address them. As I mentioned on the phone, we have to work with our attorneys to review the requests and our responses to assure we do not release any confidential personnel information. Also, the requests pertaining to the board vacancy dealt with the vacancy created by Mr. Murdock’s resignation and we have previously fulfilled comprehensive public records requests in that matter, which was widely reported by CNN.com and the Asheville Citizen-Times.”
We just want to clarify again that we are not affiliated with ACT or CNN, and we also do not know who submits requests on our site. We cannot speak to whether responses you may have provided to someone else outside of our website satisfies the info. being requested by users on our site. Unless requests are sent to you directly from our team at Sunshine Request ([email protected]), they should not be considered as an official request made by www.sunshinerequest.com.
As they are written, it is not clearly indicated by the senders that any of the requests are specifically for info. about Mr. Murdock in particular, or his apparent resignation. Therefore, the 6 requests will continue to be left “Open” until you are able to provide additional clarification, “Complete”, or “Deny” each request. We understand that this may take some time.
If you determine that any (or all) of the requests have been fulfilled, and if there are links to that info you’d like to send us showing that the requests have been fulfilled, we will be happy to share those links on our site and “Complete” the requests.
We really appreciate your time and assistance with the requests.
Have a great afternoon!
Sunshine Request
