Good afternoon Rockingham County Government,
I’d like to make a public records request for information that may be available in your office.
Please confirm receipt to let me know the request will begin processing, and if possible, please provide a rough estimate of when the request may be completed. I will plan on following up again later this month if I have not heard back before then.
Here are the details of the request:
Subject: (July 2021) Request for Rockingham County, NC Register of Deeds emails 01/01/2016-02/28/2019
Message: “Hello Rockingham County, NC Government (Records Officer),
I’d like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law:
A similar request from March 15, 2019 was marked as “Denied” via www.sunshinerequest.com on November 18, 2020 when your office had not provided any clear updates on status or timeline for completion.

For a year and a half Sunshine’s Team made numerous attempts to follow up on the request. But, as there was no clarity on if / when the request would ever be completed by Rockingham County Gov. they had to move on and “Close” the request on their site.
I am not asking that you “reopen” that specific request. Rather, I am instead requesting a new version of the same info, and would ask that this time you please start the process over, treat it as a brand new request, and please provide a clear indication that the request has been received, and and estimated date for completion.

The new request is as follows:
Related to emails from Rockingham County Register of deeds — Please provide all emails sent from Rockingham County Register of Deeds Ben Curtis to anyone from January 01, 2016 through February 28, 2019.
Additionally – please provide all .pdfs, files, attachments, videos, hyperlinks, etc. that are indicated within the responsive records. For example: A .pdf that is an attachment within an email, should also be provided as a document along with the responsive emails.
Please include all of those additional documents where applicable, as relates to the requested information above.
If the records are ultimately too large to send via emailed file share, I’d ask that you please create a public Google Drive folder / link or some other file format to transfer the files electronically.
